Dayton at SIEI 2025: Technology at the Service of Human Connection in English Language Teaching
We had the privilege of participating in the Seminario Internacional de Educación Integral (SIEI) 2025, an event that has become one of the most important spaces for dialogue and educational innovation in Ibero-America. Organized by Fundación SM, SIEI brings together teachers, researchers, and experts each year to reflect on the current and future challenges of education.
In this edition, our academic team — Homero Pineda Saynes, Cristina Miranda, Guillermo de la Parra, and Fernanda Villarreal — led the workshop titled: “Leveraging Technology to Enhance Human Connection in ELT”, a formative session that explored how to make the most of technological tools while keeping the human element at the heart of English language teaching.
The workshop addressed key topics such as:
· Balancing technology with human interaction in the classroom.
· Developing critical thinking through language as a tool for analysis and expression.
· Fostering global citizenship that is conscious, empathetic, and actively engaged.
· Adding genuine value to English programs through a holistic pedagogical approach.
Dayton’s participation in SIEI 2025 reaffirms our commitment to a person-centered, innovative, and purpose-driven education. We believe that real educational impact happens when technology becomes an ally to strengthen connection, critical thinking, and social transformation.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined the workshop and shared their reflections. We continue to grow, listen, and create with trust.
